Hi guys;
I was tooling
around the internet looking to add another Gibson GK-55 to
my collection and I happened upon your site. Outstanding!!
I can’t believe that there are other people out there who
share the same affinity for probably the best damn guitar
ever made!!!! I found mine at a guitar center in
Alexandria, VA about 5 years ago. It was in pretty good
condition, but I needed to change the tuning machines and I
changed the tailpiece but that’s about it. What makes this
guitar so amazing is that it has that coil-tap, which in my
opinion makes this guitar the most versatile instrument on
the planet. I may be overstating my point, but probably not
since you have dedicated an entire site to the Gibson GK-55
so yes it is the most versatile guitar on the
planet…..Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and say thanks
for the schematic. I’ve always wondered how this guitar was
wired, but not any more. Now in case you’re wondering what
my guitar looks like….please stop in on my band’s website
www.liveactionhero.com. I know I’m stating the obvious,
but that’s me with the GK-55. And please don’t get angry if
you see me playing my 78 Tele or my Mahoghony Strat. My
heart will always belong to my Gibson GK-55.
PS: Do you know
where I can pick up another one? Have a great weekend.
Regards,
Mark Chilnick

Hi everyone.
Glad I found your website. I thought I was the only one
with a GK 55. My name is Steve and I live in Nashville
Tn.
I bought my Gibson in 1980, but it's a 1979 model. Everything on it is
still original and it still plays and sounds the same as
the day I bought it. Still have the original case as
well. In 1997 my home was broken into and 2 of my
guitars stolen with a few other things. Not willing to
accept the fact that I would never see my guitars again
I called all the local pawnshops searching for my
babies. Lucky me two days later I got my guitars back.
No thanks to the police dept. Here's a pic of my guitar
with the pricelist that came with it. I guess there was
a model LP 55 before the GK 55. Hope to see my owner
pics on your site.
